The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has issued a Notice that the China Section 301 List 1 and List 2 tariffs will remain in effect, subject to further review and possible modifications.
USTR has been engaged in a legally required, four-year review of the Section 301 List 1 and List 2 trade actions. Based on USTR’s receipt of comments from over two hundred (200) domestic industries and trade associations supporting the trade actions, USTR has issued a notice that continues the trade actions and 25% additional duties. The USTR notice will be formally published soon in the Federal Register.
Pursuant to the statutory four-year review process, USTR will now conduct a review of the trade actions. USTR will be publishing a separate notice that describes the review process, including opportunities for public comments on the effectiveness of the Section 301 trade actions and additional duties.
We will continue to keep you apprised of developments.
