The updated 2022 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) Basic Edition – with the extensive World Customs Organization (WCO) changes at the Harmonized System heading and subheading levels – which go into effect on January 27, 2022 has finally just been posted by the U.S. International Trade Commission. Clients should note that although these HTS changes are detailed in December 2021 U.S. International Trade Commission Publication No. 5240 entitled Modifications to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, December 2021, the prior April 2021 Publication No. 5171 Recommended Modifications to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, 2021 provides concordance tables which help match old and new HTSs.
